The first thing I need to do before going into why I choose MonaVie over Visalus, is to address the fact that I am a MonaVie distributor with a bias and vested interest in the company I represent. The typical mantra we hear to often in this case is how their company is the greatest thing since light bulbs and every other company is far inferior. I often laugh when I see distributors giving rave reviews on their own company and then do reviews on competing companies with grave warning.
However, anyone who is familiar with who I am knows that I am someone who is committed to maintaining an objective standard while it is not in my nature to engage in hype or rhetoric; rather, sticking with the facts- so to provide helpful information that is free from blundering blabber and selfish motives. Furthermore, I always make it a point to include third party expert opinions.
Certainly we all have a right to have our own bias, but I have a greater respect for those who have a well rounded and informed bias, so I make every effort to be sure that my own bias is an educated and informed one. Having said that, I will now explain why I chose MonaVie over ViSalus .
Now lets take a quick overview of both companies
Both MonaVie and ViSalus have a worthy cause and purpose with strong core-values, both have excellent products, both companies have a experienced tremendous growth, both have an outstanding compensation plan, both companies have had wide media coverage and earned awards in the industry and both, overall, are remarkable companies!
Of course there are measurable and quantifiable facts to compare, but personal preferences, individual needs, personal circumstances and personalities and interests are some other things to consider when comparing companies. We will look at some comparisons between the two, but instead of going back and forth attempting to determine which company is universally “the best”, what it really comes down to is- “what is best for you?” – and “what is best for me?”.
There are many different factors to consider, both objective and subjective, when comparing companies that it is often not so cut- &-dry; For example, to say that this company has a better compensation plan than the other is a quite broad statement, as there is a multitude of different components in a compensation plan that make it nearly impossible to determine an absolute conclusion.
Perhaps a better question to ask is, “What comp plan is best for me?” Just like you may ask, “What product is best for me?” -and- “What company is the right fit for me?”
Is It Built To Last?
One very important quality that comes to my mind when considering why I chose MonaVie, is that it’s a company designed for longevity. For a company to have life-long opportunity, it must be built and managed to perform multiple S-curves. An S-curve is the pattern in which a company’s growth trajectory swoops up to a point where it levels out to stabilize- and then it swoops up again. See diagram –>
Companies with multiple S-curves utterly defy the erroneous doctrine of those who insist that the only way to prosper with business models like this is to get in at the ground floor. History shows that several companies like Shaklee, Nu-Skin and Amway had experienced multiple S-curves. In fact, those who joined Amway when they were nearly 20 years old were those who prospered the most!
Certainly there are many companies that can only pull-off a bell-curve. A bell-curve is when the growth trajectory of a company swoops up and then goes down- and the show is over… If you join a company like that, then you absolutely do need to get in on the ground floor because the opportunity is short-lived.
It is very important to understand this growth process while choosing a company so you may have a better indication of what kind of future the company has. Any company that manages to have a significant surge of growth will indefinitely come to a point where it will plateau in order to stabilize for the next growth spurt.
MonaVie is now begun its next growth phase, but distributors who don’t understand the growth process have gotten the idea that the company has fizzled and this is where many reps make the unnecessary decision to go find the next opportunity.
The remarkable growth-surge that ViSalus is now experiencing will indefinitely reach its plateau and many of its distributors will be inclined to hop over to the next company that happens to be in the middle of its growth-surge. If ViSalus pulls off multiple S-curves, then it will also be an unnecessary move for its reps to bail-out during this time between growth spurts.
Most seasoned industry veterans can tell you it is not wise to jump from one company to another, but to find a well-managed and well-built company that works- then stick with it through the ups and downs. MonaVie demonstrating its ability, on many levels, to secure life-long opportunity and we shall see in due time if ViSalus is able to do the same…
One mistake many people make when comparing products is by measuring vitamin-per-vitamin or dollar-per-dollar while overlooking the actual essence of the product. Now my bias will say that MonaVie has superior products, but I can also say that it is an educated bias, so let me explain:
MonaVie products are made with whole-foods and super-foods, which is the most efficient way for our body’s to assimilate combined phyto-nutrients that nourish at a cellular level; Much better than artificially extracted nutrients and supplemental mega-doses, wholefoods and superfoods have nutritional profiles of perfect symmetry for optimum cohesion within the organic process of assimilation. MonaVie only produces exquisite high premium products with exceptional wholefoods and superfoods wich have a high density of nutrition and extraordinary levels of antioxidants. One important fact to consider is that these exotic superfoods from tropical rain-forests oxidize and lose their nutritional value very quickly, so the main challenge was establishing a method and process to harvest them from remote regions of the world and lock-in and sustain the same nutritional value it had at the time of harvest, which only MonaVie has achieved. Now I will say that ViSalus has good a product which many people have experienced real results, but I cannot honestly say that ViSalus products are at the same high premium caliber as MonaVie products.
Another thing with ViSalus product is, I could not stand behind a soy-based product. Most people would be surprised to know that soy is not all that it’s promoted to be- and, in fact, soy is really not good for you. I understand that ViSalus uses non-GMO soy and they have removed the isoflavonoids found in soy that disrupt hormone balance, and have thus created their synergistic tri-sorb protien, but there is still a multitude of other problems with soy.

This is a subject that can get very complicated so I won’t dive into all the nuts-&-bolts of it all. The fundamental difference between the two compensation plans is that MonaVie has a “binary” plan while ViSalus has a “unilevel” plan.
I find some of the faucets of the ViSalus compensation plan commendable, such as the bottom, middle & top-level balance, its fast-start program, disappearing auto-ship and ability to create immediate momentum. These are some of the reasons why ViSalus is in the midst of hyper-growth with an outstanding 20% distributor retention rate.
There is not such a thing as a perfect compensation plan, which is why there is a new-and-improved one coming out every day. I will not get sucked-in to the syndrome of jumping into the next new comp plan when the company I am with is already continually making improvements in the ever-evolving process of compensation plans.
I tip my hat to ViSalus as I am quite fond of this company and I’m sure that for many of its reps, ViSalus is right for them. But with all due respect, after weighing the two, I still believe MonaVie is a superior company and the right fit for myself and many others.
