Scarcity to Abundance

Posted on 24. Nov, 2011 by in Entrepreneurship, General, Health & Wellness, Inspirational, Personal Development

There are no circumstances that can overcome a powerful mindset; no adversities that can smother an iron-clad determination and no scarcity that can coexist with true abundance.

Indeed, abundance is much more than just external  wealth, but something that comes from the depths of a powerful soul

How do we develop such a powerful soul?

Jim Rohn said, “Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion

Words in it of itself, are not enough to produce core-strength. There is no amount of pep-talks we can use that will muster-up the kind of girth we desire if that’s all we are doing. There must be action in which our soul is being exercised and rigorously tested. There must be adversity that is faced and not avoided.

Furthermore, we must have been beat-down and crushed to the point where we were nearly destroyed. Then and only then will we have but a chance to build our self up and, maybe, if we don’t quit, there will be strength developing at the inner-most part of our being as our mind grabs a hold of a deeper sense of resolve.

When we’ve been able to claw our way out of the hole after we’ve been beaten and battered, there is no other affirmation that comes near to that! Hence, triumph is the greatest affirmation.

Refiners Fire

Blows that hurt cleanse away evil, as do lashings the inner depths  of the heart.“                     Proverbs 20:30

There is also a cleansing effect that trials and tribulations have on the soul. Much like a refining process- like gold passing through the fire, we are purified and much more valuable when we come out. Think about how gem-stones are produced with extreme amounts of friction and heat and weight pressing and tempering for significant lengths of time. Only by such adverse conditions is something so precious produced.

Count it all joy when we meet various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its full effect that you would be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.“        James 1:2-4

Two Roads

Most people do everything they can to take easy street. The higher road may not be so easy, but it is the most rewarding. Most people would rather sit on their couch and vegge on TV or check-out of reality with various types of addictions accompanied with different forms of denial.

There may be some sense in taking the path of least resistance, but where does that path lead?…

Vision

We must have some kind of perception and foresight to wisely  choose which path to take. If one chooses a rough road over a smoother road, there must be something one sees besides the bumps. There must be something more interesting and exiting and rewarding that can only be imagined with a strong sense of vision.

Vision is an essential component of an abundant soul. Without vision, abundance cannot manifest itself and it will diminish or, at least go dormant. Vision is what provides space and direction for abundance to flourish. It gives a frame-work and definition to the, otherwise, nebulous energy, as vision is the perfect conductor for such energy to travel. And it just so happens that vision is also produced by the trials of life.

Enlightenment

Education, inspiration and personal development are faucets of enlightenment which build upon our internal wealth. Enlightenment is what brings our abundance to maturity. And once mature, our abundance will begin to spread from our internal being to our external being. “Quality begins on the inside… and then works its way out

One who has not yet experienced external prosperity must have faith and hold fast to the abundance within- doing everything possible to nurture it while avoiding complacency; but with all diligence, pressing on to the upward call.

Keep scarcity in the past

“I’m never going to make it!”

“I’m not as good as so & so”

“People will laugh if I fall”

Just a few examples of the kind of debilitating thoughts which need to be eradicated from our mind as we put away such  hindering habits from our practice, such as various forms of laziness, addictions and destructive behavior. These are things which breed scarcity and block abundance.

Take an inventory on the thoughts, feelings and attitudes that occupy your soul and do some major spring-cleaning. Identify any negativity, skepticism and cynicism and dispose it.  Fill yourself with positive energy, healthy thoughts  and things that truly nourish your soul; and guard your heart and mind with all diligence.

-May your life be filled with abundance!

Today I needed to read this.I keep tknhiing that I need enough money to pay down my debt, to get a house I can actually have enough space to maneuver in and keep structured, and to make enough money off the things that I really WANT to do most so that I am not spending so much time doing things that drain me. I’ve proven myself with a creative business that brings in a ton of abundance for me But for some reason my deepest passions are always held just out of reach. I can never seem to convince myself that I can make a living as a fine writer and an artist. I can never seem to convince myself that anyone would want to pay what I would need to make a living. I’ve gotten so attached to my business and so used to only tknhiing of it as providing a source of abundance in a predictable and rational way I want to tap into my passions and let them create some abundance for me, too.Your story sounds so similar to mine My father left when I was 8 and was out of my life at 10 I had everything I needed. Except my mother did have a scarcity mindset, despite all she provided for me. Somehow I grew not to have that mindset about most things But I was taught that you could never make a real living as an artist. I am still struggling with that, despite the brazen commitment to optimism and abundance that I hold for most everything else.Your mom is great! I know my mom was, too, she just didn’t know anything better. I just hope I can kick down the door of my own limiting programming!
